"Raindrops keep falling on my Head" gesungen von B. J. Thomas war einer der erfolgreichsten Hits des Erfolgsduos Burt Bacharach mit seinem Textdichter Hal David. Vor kurzem ist Hal David leider verstorben und hinterläßt eine große Lücke in der Musikgeschichte. Als großer Bacharach / David Fan konnte ich hier eine Lücke in meiner Plattensammlung schließen. Wer jemals in seinem Leben Popmusik gehört hat, der kennt Burt Bacharach. Denn eine geradezu unglaublich lange Reihe von Superhits stammt aus der Feder dieses hoch begabten Komponisten aus Kansas City im amerikanischen Bundesstaat Missouri. Geboren am 12. Mai 1928 lernte Burt schon als Kind Klavier spielen, studierte Komposition, überlebte den Koreakrieg als Barpianist in Offizierscasinos, und startete in den 50er-Jahren seine Karriere als Schreiber von Popjuwelen. Sein Partner bei den meisten Hits war der Texter Hal David. Die Nummer-eins-Hits flossen nur so aus Bacharachs Feder. Stell dir vor du sitzt im Flugzeug und wirst von einer melodischen beruhigenden Musik berieselt. Eine Musikcombo oder ein Oianist hauchen dir mit einer angenehmen Art der Unterhaltung die Angsst vorm Fliegen aus dem Kopf. Gefällt dir so Musik bist du goldrichtig mit dieser CD. Kann man wunderbar nebenher laufen lassen, obwohl auch sehr schöne Stücke drauf sind, die bei mehrmaligem hören immer mehr an Charme gewinnen. Fazit: Eine Sammlung höchst erfolgreicher und einfach hinreißender und abwechslungsreicher Songs, die ganz sicher in keinem Musik-Archiv fehlen darf! Bei jedem Lied merkt man, welcher Aufwand, welche Souveränität und Perfektionismus in jedem, einzelnem Song investiert wird! Von meiner Seite - ein klares JA zu dieser Scheibe - und diese positive Bewertung hat nichts mit dem Erscheinungsbid zu tun! Hier geht es um die Musik - und die ist richtig scharf!! Dieses Album hat eine tolle Tonqualität und enthält die größten Hits! Jeder Song ist ein Meisterwerk Wer also eine Zusammenstellung mit allen Hits sucht, ist bei dieser CD auf jeden Fall sehr gut beraten. Also: Kaufbefehl! Für alle Menschen, die diese Musik mögen, ist diese CD ein absoluten Super-Über-Pflicht-Ohne-Jede-Frage-Muss. Fünf Sterne für eine absolut gelungene Songauswahl und noch dazu in absolut überzeugender Soundqualität. In fantastischer Tonqualität werden Standards von Einst zum neuen Hörerlebnis zum Superpreis. Eine wundervolle Sammlung seiner größten Hits. Einlegen, starten und einfach genießen. Ein Muss für jeden Liebhaber guter Musik. Ein toller Querschnitt.
